What is twilight definition?

Twilight is a period of the day just before sunrise or just after sunset when the sky is partially illuminated but the sun is below the horizon. There are three types of twilight: civil, nautical, and astronomical.

  • Civil twilight occurs when the sun is between 0 and 6 degrees below the horizon. During civil twilight, there is enough light to see objects clearly and distinguish colors.
  • Nautical twilight occurs when the sun is between 6 and 12 degrees below the horizon. During nautical twilight, it becomes difficult to see the horizon and the stars start to become visible.
  • Astronomical twilight occurs when the sun is between 12 and 18 degrees below the horizon. During astronomical twilight, the sky is dark and the stars are easily visible.

Twilight is often associated with a certain mood or atmosphere, especially when it comes to literature and art. The term "twilight" is often used to describe a dreamy, romantic, or melancholic mood, and it has been used in the titles of many books, movies, and songs.
